A satisfying penne with a firm and enjoyable texture

Rummo S.p.A., a long-established Italian pasta manufacturer, offers a wide variety of pasta products in addition to spaghetti. This time, I am introducing PENNE RIGATE Nº66, which is currently available in Japan.
The cooking time is slightly longer than the spaghetti version, at 13 minutes. Since penne is a tube-shaped pasta with a thicker structure, it holds its shape well and is easy to handle, even for those trying gluten-free pasta for the first time.
Penne is often paired with richer sauces such as carbonara, tomato-based sauces, or cheese sauces, but it also works surprisingly well with Japanese-style pasta dishes.
At home, I often combine it with leftover vegetables from the refrigerator, such as komatsuna (Japanese mustard spinach), corn, and cabbage, along with meat or salmon. I season it with olive oil, salt, and pepper, then finish it with a little Japanese bonito broth for extra flavor.
Because this pasta has a firm texture and a satisfying bite, it feels quite filling. It can also be used in the same way as macaroni, such as mixed with mayonnaise for a pasta salad or baked into a macaroni-style gratin. With its long shelf life, it is also a good option to keep stocked for emergency food supplies.
Since Rummo S.p.A. does not sell directly in Japan, I have included a link to Namisato Co., Ltd., one of the official importers of RUMMO products in Japan.
“Namisato Net” also offers many gluten-free products made by Namisato Co., Ltd., a company well known in Japan for its rice flour products. I hope you will take a look at those products as well. Another reason my family continues to buy RUMMO pasta is that it is reasonably priced for a gluten-free product and easy to enjoy regularly.
**Please note: If you have any allergies or dietary restrictions, please check with the restaurant in advance, including the possibility of cross-contamination.
RUMMO gluten-free pasta is also available in a spaghetti shape.
