About Gluten Free @yowalog
*In August 2026, Gluten Free Japan changed its blog name to “Gluten Free @yowalog”.
Gluten Free @yowalog is a personal blog run by someone with IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) who wants to enjoy delicious food from all over Japan. I share information about restaurants, cafés, and other places that are considerate of gluten-free dining.

In my case, reducing gluten helps ease my IBS symptoms, so I have been mindful of following a gluten-free diet for many years. However, gluten is not the only thing that can affect my digestive symptoms, and other foods can also be a factor.
If I strictly eliminated every food that might cause symptoms, the range of foods I could eat in everyday life would become extremely limited. For this reason, I allow small amounts of ingredients such as soy sauce, as well as cross-contact (contamination) that may occur during food preparation.
**Please Note: The term “gluten-free” used on this blog does not refer to the same standard as the strict gluten-free diet generally recommended for people with celiac disease. Some of the food and places featured on this blog may not be completely gluten-free. Even if wheat flour is not used, gluten-free status may not be guaranteed.
The information on this blog is based on my own experiences and personal judgment, and may not be suitable for everyone. If you need to strictly avoid gluten, please follow your doctor’s advice and always contact the restaurant or manufacturer directly before visiting or purchasing.

About the term "gluten-free": I checked with Japan's Consumer Affairs Agency, and I was told that there's currently no official standard for it. So on this blog, I try to clearly note contamination risks and other details for each shop and product, so that readers can decide for themselves.
