Namisato General Purpose Rice Flour is a versatile all-purpose rice flour that can be used not only for baking cookies, cakes, and doughnuts, but also for savory dishes such as okonomiyaki and tempura.

In July 2021, it received the Non-Gluten Certification from the Japan Rice Flour Association, based on the guidelines established by Japan's Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF). This certification requires a gluten content of 1 ppm or less, making it 20 times stricter than the gluten limit used by most international gluten-free certification programs (20 ppm or less).

One of the key features of Namisato General Purpose Rice Flour is its exceptionally fine texture, comparable to wheat flour, and its ability to dissolve easily in water. This allows tempura batter to fry up light and crispy.

In addition to tempura, it is an excellent choice for making gluten-free okonomiyaki (Japanese savory pancakes). The batter mixes smoothly without forming lumps, producing pancakes that are crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside.
Because of the natural properties of rice flour, the batter remains smooth without becoming sticky, even if it is left to stand for an extended period.

Rice flour gives the batter unique properties—it stays smooth, doesn't become sticky even after resting, and is easy to handle.
That's why even first-time cooks can make delicious okonomiyaki with confidence.
