Stone-Oven Pizza So Good You Forget About the “Rice Flour” and “Gluten-Free” Labels
DELICA TEN・SEN is located right in front of Koma Station on the Seibu Ikebukuro and Seibu Chichibu lines, farther out past Hanno Station in southern Saitama.
Here, you can enjoy stone-oven-baked gluten-free pizza.
We go to Saitama about once a month for errands, and whenever we do, we look for somewhere to have a gluten-free lunch. This time, we found this café.
The café has a simple, unassuming atmosphere, but the pizza we had there was much better than I expected.

The exterior of DELICA TEN・SEN is very simple.
It doesn’t immediately look like a pizza place. If you didn’t know it was there, you might easily walk past, thinking it was just a café.
Inside, you’ll find pizza samples in three sizes—S, R, and L—and you order at the counter.
This time, we ordered a regular-size Margherita and Quattro Formaggi. Whenever I visit a pizza place for the first time, these are the two I always order.
When you eat gluten-free rice flour pizza, don’t you find yourself wondering things like this? At least, I do:
・How close is the crust to regular wheat-based pizza?
・Will I be able to taste the rice flour?
・Will the texture be chewy or crispy?
Without even realizing it, my brain starts analyzing it as “rice flour pizza.”
But when I took my first bite of the pizza here, something was different.
Instead of thinking about the crust, I found myself thinking, “The seasoning is really nice,” and “The toppings are so good.”
For once, thoughts like “It’s made with rice flour” or “This is what gluten-free pizza is like” didn’t come to mind.
It was simply good pizza.
In other words, even though I was eating rice flour pizza, it felt like my brain had forgotten that it was made with rice flour and was simply accepting it as a delicious pizza.
The balance between the rice flour crust and the toppings, and the way everything came together, was just right.
For me, that was a somewhat new experience.
There is still some of that chewy texture you often associate with rice flour pizza. And when I stop and think about it, I can tell that it is made with rice flour after all.
I don’t think the pizza is made entirely from rice flour, but it made me appreciate the potential of rice flour as an ingredient.
By the way, even the R size is about the same size as a typical wheat-based pizza, so it is quite satisfying.
Next time, I’d like to try a few of the S-size pizzas, as well as the quiche.
They also seem to offer a weekday-only lunch plate.
If you’re heading out toward Saitama, this is a place worth stopping by.
The bread and sweets are also quite good, not just the pizza.
There is parking for four cars (spaces 6–9) on the road side across from the station.

They are also considering offering online ordering in the future for people who live too far away to easily visit the shop. If you’re one of them, I recommend following their Instagram and checking in from time to time for updates.
**Please note: If you have food allergies or dietary restrictions, please check with the restaurant in advance, including the possibility of cross-contact.
