Located a five-minute walk from Bakuroyokoyama Station, “KITADE SHOKUDO” is a casual dining bar where you can enjoy authentic Mexican-inspired food in Tokyo.
Opened in December 2013, KITADE SHOKUDO was the original restaurant behind the KITADE TACOS taco shops, which now have several locations. Its signature tacos are served with soft tortillas made with 100% Hokkaido-grown corn and no wheat.

The menu at KITADE SHOKUDO is made with little to no artificial seasonings or preservatives, and most of the menu is gluten-free, except for items such as soy sauce and some beers.
The taco fillings include 10 options, including beef, pork, chicken, shrimp, mackerel, mushrooms, and tempeh, a fermented soybean food.
Rather than the hard shells often associated with tacos, the tacos here are served in soft tortillas. They are about the size of your palm, making it easy to order several and enjoy a variety of flavors.
The first floor has counter seating and a casual dining-bar atmosphere, making it a nice place to stop by for a drink and a meal after work. The stylish interior also has a slightly hidden-gem feel.
The second floor has a large dining table, which would be a good setting for enjoying a meal with friends or having a casual get-together.
I happened to visit KITADE SHOKUDO while shopping in Akihabara. It took about 15 minutes to walk there from Akihabara, so it could also be a nice place to visit as part of a leisurely walk.
**Please note that soy sauce may contain wheat. If you need to follow a strict gluten-free diet, we recommend checking with the staff before ordering.
**Pets are also welcome.
“Kitade Shokudo” is the origin of the “KITADE TACOS” brand, a taco and Mexican-style food concept with locations mainly in Tokyo. While each store differs in location and concept, all of them serve tacos made with 100% Hokkaido corn, house-made, gluten-free tortillas.
