SHIMA is a bakery located about a 15-minute walk from Kurokawa Station on the Odakyu Tama Line. The bakery is on the first floor, while a restaurant serving rare lamb (jingisukan) is located on the second floor. This time, I visited only the bakery.
Since it is a little far from the station, coming by car is a convenient option. There is a large free parking lot in front of the shop.

The bakery has a wide selection of breads and sweets, including savory breads and chiffon cakes.According to the staff, all of the products are made without wheat, and even the seasonings used are gluten-free.
I bought a set of small rice flour rolls in five flavors: sesame, chocolate chip, corn, carrot, and yukari (red shiso). I also bought a small baguette, corn bread, onion bread, and rice flour noodles.
Other items include pizza bread, pizza dough, chiffon cakes, cream buns, anpan (sweet red bean buns), steamed cakes, and cookies. The staff told me that all of these products are gluten-free as well.
The breads have the soft, chewy texture typical of rice flour bread. They are not overly sweet and were very good.
I also enjoyed both the savory breads and the sweet items. I wish I had bought a chiffon cake too.
The restaurant on the second floor also offers rice flour dumplings and rice flour tacos, so I would like to try the restaurant next time.
