Located just a short walk from Bakuro-Yokoyama Station, OBI HOSTEL & CAFE BAR is a facility combining a hostel, fitness center, and café & bar. The café offers rice flour muffins made without wheat flour, with a gentle sweetness that highlights the natural flavors of the ingredients. Please note that OBI is not a dedicated gluten-free café.
While walking around Nihonbashi, I spotted a stylish Japanese-inspired building and was curious to take a closer look. Then I noticed the words “gluten-free muffins” on the café menu board… and I had to check it out!
These muffins are made with rice flour and have a moist texture with a gentle sweetness.
You can choose from flavors such as Soy and Banana. They have a natural sweetness from the ingredients and are not overly sweet, making them a good choice for breakfast or a light snack.
These muffins are a good choice for anyone who wants to enjoy sweets while being mindful of their diet, including people following a gluten-free lifestyle.
The muffins are quite large, so one is enough to feel satisfied.
OBI is more than just a café and bar. The facility also includes a hostel and a fitness gym.
You can stay in central Tokyo at a reasonable price, and from here, Tokyo Station, Shinjuku, Shinbashi, Kanda, and Akihabara are all about 15 minutes away.
It also offers easy access to the Ueno and Asakusa areas. If you head toward Kanda, you can also find restaurants that offer gluten-free options, making it a convenient base for a longer stay while exploring Tokyo.
Whether you're visiting for business or sightseeing, or simply want to work out at the gym during your stay, it's a versatile place to stay.
