Located about a 3-minute walk from JR Nagoya Station, "Michinori-tei Nagoya Station" is a restaurant where every single dish on the menu is gluten-free. It's a Japanese set-meal restaurant that relies heavily on soy sauce, and yet everything here is made without wheat. If you're visiting Nagoya, this is a gluten-free restaurant that's well worth adding to your itinerary.
The menu includes dishes like fried oysters, vegetables and fried chicken in black vinegar sauce, udon, sukiyaki, fried shrimp, tonkatsu, croquettes, hamburger steak, eel, tempura rice bowls, and tempura. All of these are served as part of gluten-free set meals, and they're just as delicious as their wheat-based counterparts.
The owner has a wheat allergy himself, and you can feel that in the carefully prepared side dishes that come with each set meal—there's a real sense of wanting guests to enjoy truly delicious food.
**To get there, exit Nagoya Station through the Taiko-dori Exit (West Exit), then turn left at the rotary in front of you and head toward Bic Camera.
Pass the street beside Bic Camera, and after walking a little further, you'll find the restaurant on the second floor of a building on your right.
Look for the orange noren curtain at the entrance—it makes the place easy to spot.
Michinori-tei operates several locations and services, including Michinori-tei Nagoya Ekimae, about a 3-minute walk from Nagoya Station, Michinori-tei Izumi, the gluten-free bento service Michinori Bento, and an online shop where you can purchase items such as fried chicken.
