Located about a 7-minute walk from Nakameguro Station, Ashiya Okonomiyaki Kan – Nakameguro is an okonomiyaki restaurant where you can enjoy gluten-free okonomiyaki made with rice flour. The owner is from the Kansai region of Japan.
Pork Modern-yaki
The restaurant is open only in the evening on weekdays. If you would like to have lunch here, you can visit on weekends or public holidays between 12:00 and 4:00 p.m.
This time, I ordered the pork modern-yaki with noodles and the negiyaki.
The negiyaki was crispy on the outside, with a light and crunchy texture that I had never experienced before. It was really delicious.
The negiyaki is served with grated daikon and ponzu rather than the usual sauce, giving it a refreshing taste.
I could easily have eaten another one.
I also really wanted to try the modern-yaki because I was told that the noodles are gluten-free. It was crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy inside.
Even though it was quite filling with the noodles, the special okonomiyaki sauce was so good that I finished the whole thing very quickly.
