NachuRa Yoyogi Park Adult Pound Cake – Brandy
NachuRa - Yoyogi Park in Yoyogi, Shibuya, Tokyo, is known for its gluten-free cheesecakes, cookies, and other sweets. This time, I ordered one of my favorites, a brandy cake, from their online store.
This particular brandy cake is only available online and cannot be ordered at the café, so I had been curious to try it. I used to enjoy buying brandy cake, but after I stopped eating wheat, I assumed I would not be able to have it anymore.
I wondered if rice flour could really recreate the moist texture of a brandy cake, since rice flour can easily fall apart when it contains moisture.

I decided to order one from the NachuRa - Yoyogi Park online store, although I wasn’t sure what to expect. It costs 3,300yen.
For me, that is quite an expensive purchase.
Most of my monthly spending money goes toward gluten-free food, and this month, I decided to spend it on this brandy cake.
I carefully cut into the cake and took a bite...
It really tastes like brandy cake!
It was surprisingly moist for a rice flour cake, with a noticeable brandy aroma.
It did not crumble easily, either.
The texture was rich and dense, while the beet sugar gave it a natural sweetness.
Overall, I was very happy with it and found it even better than I expected.
The cake is about 14 cm long and quite small, but the two of us were able to enjoy it over three servings.
It is the kind of cake that makes me want to order it again.
I think it could also make a nice gift or a small treat for yourself.
The online store also offers cheesecakes, cookies, plum wine cake, and other items in addition to this brandy cake.
