PIZZERIA ICARO has long been one of our family's favorite pizza restaurants. It's about a 10-minute walk from Amagatsuji Station in Nara.

We used to live in the Kansai area and visited the restaurant regularly, but since we no longer live nearby, this time we ordered their frozen pizzas online.

My family says the texture is surprisingly close to that of wheat-based pizza. Of course, this pizza is gluten-free and made without wheat.

Chef Hikaru Nakanishi, who creates these pizzas, has received several awards for his gluten-free pizzas. In 2019, he won first place in the Gluten-Free Division at an international pizza competition held in Naples, Italy, competing against pizza makers from around the world.

Looking at the ingredients, the dough is made not only with rice flour but also chickpea flour. The crust is light and fluffy on the inside with a crisp edge, and it stays pleasantly soft even after it cools.This time, we lightly torched the tops of the pizzas before serving.

This time, we ordered the following three pizzas, and every one of them was delicious.
